Sheep + Wolf
A wolf's head and a sheep's head face each other. The sculptures have human facial expressions. Both the sheep and the wolf play the same game. Is a sheep truly a (poor) sheep, or is it merely manipulating its environment through its feigned powerlessness? While the wolf—known for its ego—represents a predator asserting its dominion, the wolf may nevertheless be insecure, yet like a puppet, it plays its game cunningly. In this way, it likes to present itself as heroic and elusive to affirm its ego.
The small duo sculpture plays with the disruption of the image: how we do not react from our own strength, but rather allude to the other's pattern of expectations. The installation reveals the dynamic between power and powerlessness and the role that humans play on a daily basis, thereby relinquishing their authentic capacity.
